Jane Swift Won’t Run For Governor
December 2, 2021
With plenty of people rumored to be interested in running for governor of Massachusetts this time around, could someone who previously served in the position make a political comeback?
It’s possible in Massachusetts because there are no term limits. However, if it’s going to happen, it won’t be Jane Swift, who served as the state’s acting governor from 2001 to 2003 after then-governor Paul Cellucci took a job as the U.S. ambassador to Canada.
When asked if she was interested in running for governor again on Twitter, Swift used laughing emojis and said, “I only run statewide when I am pregnant: past the expiration date.”
