20 Percent of Massachusetts Restaurants May Go Under Because of Coronavirus Shutdown

The widespread expectation is that there will be fewer restaurants in Massachusetts in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic.

MassLive.com reports  that according to the Massachusetts Restaurants Association, the economic destruction caused by a prolonged coronavirus shutdown will result in 20 percent of Bay State restaurants shutting their doors for good.

As a result of the pandemic, restaurants across the state either laid off or furloughed a total of 93 percent of their employees. However, restaurants that have reopened have been able to hire some of those employees back.
