Boston Red Sox Begin Spring Training Next Month

January 10, 2023

Believe it or not, baseball season is not all that far away.

The Boston Red Sox are scheduled to begin spring training next month, according to the team’s web site. It’s not yet clear which dates pitchers and catchers and everyone else will have to report to Fort Myers, Florida.

However, it is known that the Red Sox are scheduled to play their first spring training game of 2023 on Friday, February 24. The Red Sox are set to scrimmage the Northeastern Huskies, an NCAA Division 1 baseball team, at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers. The time of the game has not been announced.

As for playing an actual Major League Baseball team in spring training action, the Red Sox are scheduled to first do that on Saturday, February 25; they are to play the Atlanta Braves on the road at 1:05 p.m. that day. The Braves play their spring training games at CoolToday Park in North Port, Florida.

Opening Day for the Red Sox is scheduled for Thursday, March 30. They are scheduled to host the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park (2:10 p.m. start time).
