Elizabeth Warren Calls For Ceasefire In Israel-Gaza War

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge) wants to see a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Gaza.

“We need a ceasefire,” Warren told GBH News this week. “We need those [Israeli] hostages returned. We need Gaza opened up so that humanitarian relief can flow in. And we need to be pushing the parties toward a permanent peace in the region.”

Warren also expressed support for a two-state solution and slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Netanyahu has made clear that he is not in favor of that,” Warren said. “I believe that means he is not serving the interests of the Israeli people. And we, as an ally, need to be pushing hard on him. We need to push the leadership for both the Palestinians and the Israelis to move toward a two-state solution.”
