Karyn Polito Praises Maura Healey

November 14, 2022

Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito had some positive words to say about Governor-elect Maura Healey.

Polito praised Healey for being the first woman elected as governor in Massachusetts history.

“I feel very grateful that we have a historic moment with two women leading in these positions,” Polito said, according to MassLive. “That is very important for women and girls to know that their voices matter and to be able to see themselves in positions of leadership like this. And it is a very important and big opportunity to show that this is possible for both of you to bring that to this office.”

The other woman Polito is referring to is Lieutenant Governor-elect Kim Driscoll, the mayor of Salem.

Massachusetts has already had a female governor. Jane Swift, who served a lieutenant governor from 1999 to 2001, became acting governor in January 2001 when the governor at the time, Paul Cellucci, resigned. Swift served as governor until January 2003. She did not run for election as governor.

New to NewBostonPost?  Conservative media is hard to find in Massachusetts.  But you’ve found it.  Now dip your toe in the water for two bucks — $2 for two months.  And join the real revolution.
