Massachusetts Residents Divided Over Israel’s Actions In War Against Gaza Following Hamas Terror Attacks

April 11, 2024

Do Massachusetts residents support Israel in its war against Gaza?

They’re split, according to a recent poll released by GBH News.

The poll found that 34 percent of Bay Staters support the military action that Israel has taken in Gaza, while 40 percent oppose; 26 percent either refused to answer or said they do not know.

Additionally, 47 percent of Bay Staters said that American political leaders should push Israel to end the war immediately, while 21 percent said they should support Israeli leaders in the war; 8 percent said “something else” — which likely includes supporting Gaza — and 23 percent said they didn’t know or refused to answer.

The war started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an attack that included more than 3,000 rockets and an armed invasion into the southern inhabited regions of the State of Israel from the neighboring Gaza Strip at 6:30 a.m. local time, according to The Times of Israel.
