Massachusetts Residents Support Black Lives Matter Movement, Think Racism Bigger Issue That Coronavirus, Poll Says

In Massachusetts, there is overwhelming support for the Black Lives Matter movement, according to a recent poll conducted by Suffolk University.

It surveyed 500 Bay State residents and found that 85 percent of them either support or strongly support the movement. In contrast, 10 percent said they oppose or strongly oppose the movement, according to MassLive.com reports.

Additionally, 75 percent said that racial discrimination is a major issue in the state.

The poll found that a plurality of Bay Staters think racism is the most serious problem in Massachusetts; 29 percent said so. That was higher than the percentage who said unemployment/the economy (25 percent) and physical/mental health due to coronavirus (21 percent).
