Maura Healey Unhappy With Congress On Immigration

February 27, 2024

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is not happy with Congress right now.

Given the influx of people entering the country via the southern border, including illegal immigrants, Healey says she wants to see a federal solution to the problem.

Healey is displeased that Congress hasn’t taken action to quell the border crisis yet.

“It’s a shame,” Healey told Politico. “It really flies in the face of strong consensus among governors, both Democrats and Republicans, that we need federal immigration reform and that we need Congress to act. I can’t tell you how many conversations we had, conversations with Democratic and Republican governors and the White House, all of us lamenting Congress’s failure.”

Healey did not explain what, exactly, she wants Congress to pass.
