New Hampshire Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Wants Maura Healey To Resign Over Migrant Rape Comments

March 22, 2024

New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate Chuck Morse has a message for Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey:  resign.

The Republican thinks that Healey should step down because she did not take the migrant rape in Rockland seriously enough.

“It’s a horrible situation, a horrible allegation and my thoughts are with the victim,” Healey said, according to CBS Boston.

“We have security and systems in place, we have vetting in place. It is unfortunate that, from time to time, things will happen, and as I say, anywhere, not just in shelters but anywhere,” Healey added.

The “things will happen” remark angered many people, who thought Healey was downplaying child rape for the sake of political correctness, including Morse.

“.@MassGovernor shouldn’t just apologize for her appalling comments, she should resign,” Morse posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Morse is one of two Republicans running for governor in New Hampshire, alongside former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte. On the Democratic side, former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig is also running.
