Rhode Island Doughnut Shop Ends Police and Military Discount

Allie’s Donuts in North Kingstown Rhode Island is no longer be offering a discount to police officers and military members — active duty and veterans.

According to East Greenwich News, the reason Allie’s Donuts gave for ending the discount is “racism & injustice.”

“We’re fed up,” Allie’s Donuts said in a statement. “Until local police takes action to solve problems with racism & injustice. @alliesdonuts will choose to stand with the people of our great state. Thank you for your service, and shame on you for your silence.”

Although the shop is unhappy with the police, the owners’ statement does not explain the end to the military discount.
