Stand-Up Comedian Custodian Announces Worcester Public Schools Snow Day

January 8, 2024

A school custodian who is also a standup comedian delivered a video announcement of no-school in Worcester because of snow.

Jimmy Cash, who identified himself as “Worcester Public Schools’ chief meteorologist” in the video, said snowblowers, shovels, “even a bunch of paper towels” weren’t able to clear the snow enough to have school on Monday, January 8, 2024. He recorded the video at night in the middle of a snow-covered street in Worcester.

The video was posted on social media at 7:35 p.m. Sunday night, January 7.

While some parts of Massachusetts got little to no snow, the city of Worcester got about 15 inches, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
