Vermont To Hold Free Fishing Day In June

May 27, 2020

Want to go fishing without a fishing license in Vermont?

In a few weeks, that opportunity will be open for everyone — with no possible consequences.

On Saturday, June 13, the state plans to hold its annual free fishing day to kick off the start of bass season fishing season. The season runs through the end of November.

“Fishing is an activity that can be shared with family or easily taught to newcomers while enjoying quality time together,” Vermont Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Louis Porter said in a written statement, according to the Associated Press.

Typically, the day coincides with the annual Grand Isle Fishing Festival. However, that event has been postponed due to the coronavirus emergency.
