Barnstable County Fair Cancelled — In July

April 30, 2020

Organizers of the Barnstable County Fair have cancelled it, in the wake of Falmouth selectmen voting to rescind permits for all special events through August 31 because of coronavirus.

The Barnstable County Agricultural Society runs the fair, which typically takes place in mid-to-late July and is one of the largest events on Cape Cod. Fair organizers say the fair typically draws nearly 70,000 people over the course of seven days.

The fairgrounds are off Route 151 in the town of Falmouth.

The agricultural society’s first fair took place in 1844.
