Endowments, Tax Advantages, and Grants Are Fair Game If Colleges ‘Discriminate Against Conservatives, Christians, Jews’ and ‘Attack Free Speech,’ Trump Says

December 18, 2023

Former President Donald Trump says if he’s elected in 2024 he’ll go after the endowments, tax advantages, and grants of colleges and universities if they discriminate against certain segments of society or undermine free speech on their campuses.

Trump said certain well-known universities – he called out Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania by name – have been taken over by “radical-left Communists, Marxists, fascists, and frauds” who have “indoctrinated our youth and brought censorship and anti-Semitism to our campuses.”

“Under the Trump administration, if universities discriminate against conservatives, Christians,  Jews, if they attack free speech, we’re going to take away their tax advantages and grants. We’re going to take away their endowments. And they will pay us billions and billions of dollars for the terror they have unleashed into our once-great country,” Trump saidduring a rally in Durham, New Hampshire on Saturday, December 16.

Trump is the frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination for president, with large leads in the polls in early-primary states.
