June 9, 2020

One day in Providence last week, 65 arrests were made and nine police officers were injured amid riots connected to George Floyd’s death at the hands of police in Minnesota last month.

The protests featured looting and destruction of property. The husband of Massachusetts state Representative Michelle Dubois (D-Brockton), Adam Swinson, wrote in a Facebook post saying he has no problem with the looting, according to the Facebook page Massachusetts Conservative Movement.

“I understand there’s a certain anarchist creed that corporate and/or upscale things are bad, so you wanna loot Providence Place, I’m not going to lose any sleep, the insurance companies for Banana Republican and Foot Locker can suck it up,” Swinson wrote.

Adam Swinson, the husband of Massachusetts state Representative Michelle Dubois (D-Brockton), posted a comment on Facebook in early June 2020 discounting the damage done by rioters in Providence, Rhode Island.

On Monday, June 1, Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3, multiple Providence businesses were looted, according to WPRI-TV Channel 12.

Swinson’s wife, Representative Dubois, sparked nationwide outrage in March 2017 when she posted on Facebook to tip off illegal immigrants in Brockton about a rumored raid by federal immigration authorities.
