Man Kidnaps Woman and Son In Order To Try To Find Wife, Police Say

January 9, 2019

A 41-year-old Vermont man who abducted a 25-year-old mother and her son in New Hampshire in order, he said, to search for his wife was later arrested in Pennsylvania.

Police say the man raped the woman in a hotel in White River Junction, Vermont in front of her 5-year-old son, according to The Union Leader.

He abducted the mother and son Saturday afternoon at The Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester, New Hampshire, according to police.

The man on January 2 left a drug treatment facility in Vermont where a judge had ordered him to go in order to look for his wife, who he said he believed might be cheating on him, according to authorities.

He used the 25-year-old victim’s cell phone to contact his terrified wife, who went into hiding when she heard he had left the drug treatment facility.

Federal prosecutors plan to charge the man with kidnapping, according to The Union Leader.
