Salem, Massachusetts To Have Vaccine Passport Mandate

December 23, 2021

Vaccine passports aren’t only for Boston now.

The city of Salem, Massachusetts has followed Boston’s lead.

Salem’s board of health voted unanimously on Wednesday, December 22 to require proof of vaccination to enter many types of businesses in the community, according to Salem News. Those include indoor recreational/entertainment venues, restaurants, and indoor gyms/fitness settings.

People 12 and older will have to have one dose of the coronavirus vaccine by January 15, 2022 in instances where someone is getting vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna; they’ll need their second shot by March 1. For children ages 5 to 11, they’ll have until March 1 and May 1 respectively. For the single-dose shots of Johnson and Johnson, people ages 12 and older will have until January 15 to get one shot; people ages 5 to 11 will have until March 1.
