Seth Moulton Says Campaign for President ‘Really Going Quite Well’ Despite Not Making Top 20 Candidates on Debate Stage

U.S. Representative Seth Moulton (D-Salem) isn’t worried about his presidential campaign even though he didn’t make either of two debate stages for Democrats last week.

Moulton told The Salem News that he made a slow, steady climb when he took on then-incumbent John Tierney in the 2014 Democratic primary, coming from 50 points behind to win by 11.

“So that’s the model that we are looking at,” Moulton said, according to the Salem News.

Moulton is in the middle of his second term in Congress. He said he’ll run for re-election if his presidential campaign fizzles, though Tierney, 67, says he’s being urged to run for his old seat and several other Democrats have expressed interest in it.
