Stranded Dolphin Rescued, Put Back To Sea

Scientists and volunteers rescued a dolphin stranded on a Cape Cod beach and put the animal back to sea.

The dolphin was found Tuesday, February 19 on Boat Meadow Beach, which is on the Cape Cod Bay side of the town of Eastham, according to MassLive.com.

Staff members of the International Fund for Animal Welfare used an electrocardiogram to monitor the dolphin’s heart rate and rhythm, eventually determined the dolphin was well enough to be released, and then put the dolphin to sea at Provincetown near the tip of Cape Cod, according to MassLive.com.
