Republicans are turning children into Nazis, according to a Mother’s Day video released by a left-wing political action committee funded by a San Francisco billionaire.
The 56-second video depicts a mother describing her son going from stealing weaker kids’ money in middle school to protesting against abortion to joining neo-Nazis in college.
“Only a mother can catch the signs early,” the purported mom says. “This Mother’s Day, talk to your child about the GOP. I wish I had.”
The video was created by NextGen America, a political action committee that hits climate change hard but also supports other left-wing causes. It was founded in 2013 by Tom Steyer, a hedge-fund billionaire who was considered for a Cabinet position by former President Barack Obama.
Steyer attacked U.S. Representative Steve Lynch (D-South Boston) during the 2013 race to succeed John Kerry as U.S. senator from Massachusetts for not immediately opposing the Keystone XL Pipeline. Steyer paid for an airplane to fly near Fenway Park on Opening Day that April pulling a banner behind it that said “Steve Lynch for Oil Evil Empire.”
Lynch lost the primary to then-U.S. Representative Ed Markey (D-Malden), who is now the junior senator from Massachusetts.
Steyer considered running for governor of California this year but decided against it.
