Perhaps it was the implied homophobic nature of Colbert’s comment that made the FCC so jumpy this time around. After all, there was an outbreak of #FireColbert trending on Twitter. But then, this wasn’t the first time that Colbert made homosexual innuendos about the President. In discussing Trump’s support of O’Reilly throughout his sexual assault allegations, Colbert certainly didn’t shy away from making similarly distasteful comments. Perhaps his use of “finger” as a euphemism helped him?
